This TV is absolutely stunning. I was actually waiting for the C9000 to come out, but that TV's price is way over the limit. I found out that this TV which is the next step down and actually has the exact same technology as the C9000 minus the touchscreen remote (which can be bought seperately) and the slim profile, not a big deal considering the TV already looks beautiful and is half the price or less then a C9000!

In all honesty, I think this TV has one of the nicest pictures I've ever seen. One example is the pin-point dimming, which has garnered a lot of criticsm and skeptisism. I have seen the production TV model live and I must tell you, I think it's better then local-dimming and I'll tell you why... Unless there is a new panel that is made to fix the local-dimming "halo affect", this is currently the only way to get outradgeous contrast levels without that problem. The pin-point dimming on this TV dramatically lowers the dark spots on the screen in certain area's without a halo affect and actually goes completely pitch black when watching movies with dark screens just like a local-dimming TV. I think this TV actually excels at the dimming part over a local-dimming TV because it creates supurb black levels without any halo affects. That's a huge deal for me. Next is the color accuracy of this panel, I think the whites and colors on this TV are probably better then I've ever seen. Sure Plasma's can sometimes have better color temperatures, but they will not pop out of the screen with ambience like this TV shows. This TV is sharp looking and beautiful and it displays wonderful 3D and High-definition like never before.

Last, but not least... this tv is LOADED with features, easily making it one of the most feature rich TV's there is on the market. It's completely wireless, has 4-hdmi conenctions, has internet applications and streaming capabilities and best yet, it does it well! I have done a lot of research and have compared this TV with it's newest competitors and this one is it. Don't just take my word for it, go see it for yourselves and you'll just see what I am talking about.

Being an electronics buff, I hold a high standard to quality. This Samsung UE46C8000 is amazing. Picture quality is the best I have ever seen. From the quality remote to the stand this television is the set for you. After it was programmed and user preferences were set, the first HD channel was a golf tournament on Golf Channel HD. Truely breath taking!!! My other HD sets are Plasma ranging from 58 to 32 inches. This is the first LED television I have owned. Being one inch thick, weighing in at 55 lbs it was very easy to handle. The picture quality on non 3D broadcast makes it look like a modified 3D. I have never seen anything like it. My wife who could not care the least about technology, was very impressed with the picture quality.
Amazon made the purchasing experience painless with no sales tax and inside delivery. The delivery staff unbox your television, plug it in to make sure it works and are friendly to boot. Last but not least, you will be very impressed. I am very impressed with this next generation of quality. Samsung you definitely got this one right!!!!

"3D might grab the headlines, but this is also one of the best 2D TVs we've seen!"

So, although 3D is a lovely future-proof feature to have in your telly, it’s probably not going to be a deal-maker for a while. Good news, then, that this is a cracking 2D TV, too.

Terrific with HD content
Pop in the Avatar Blu-ray, and the image is brilliantly defined. The Samsung delves into the jungle of Pandora, digging up tons of insight along the way.

The epic battle for the planet enjoys excellent stability and solidity to motion, while explosions are made extra spectacular by impressive punch and colour vibrancy.
Switch, though, to the more natural DVD of The Duchess, and it becomes clear that the ’C8000 is just short of perfect.
Colours are a touch rich; as Bess and Georgiana stroll along the river, it’s the green of the grass that catches the eye, rather than the characters.
As the action moves inside, the Samsung once again proves a punchy performer, only ceding ground a tiny bit to some leading rivals when it comes to contrast levels. By any standards, though, this is a superb set.

Impressive off-air pictures
As with every other set here, the ’C8000 boasts a Freeview HD tuner, and off-air pictures are impressive. A touch of overexuberance is apparent in the colours of the Eggheads studio, but for detail and sharpness it’s impressive, especially with BBC HD.
What’s more, sound is rather solid – a pleasant surprise given the slimness of the set.
And 3D? We’re still seeing occasional double-imaging to Monsters vs. Aliens, but the degree to which elements pop off the screen adds to the general depth of the image to create a genuinely thrilling viewing experience.
Onboard 2D-to-3D conversion, which can be applied to any source, is less spectacular, but some may enjoy it with games.
So, while the UE46C8000 is just about your only option for a 46in 3D TV, the happy fact remains that it’s a fine ‘normal’ TV, too.

Pocket lint Review - 9/10

With such a wealth of features on board the UE46C8000 is a complicated TV to use, and it’ll take you weeks to get your head round everything. But basic navigation is a breeze, thanks to the gorgeous menu design and terrific remote, which is styled in brushed silver to match the TV.
Picture quality is astounding with any source. 3D pictures, in this case Monsters Vs Aliens on Blu-ray played on Samsung’s BD-C6900 deck, bring the expected wow factor, adding immersive depth and layering to the image. Even through the glasses, the image is bright, vivid and detailed and you’ll be surprised by the quality of 2D to 3D conversion.
But 3D playback isn’t without problems - despite the inclusion of circuitry designed to reduce the "crosstalk" interference that can blight 3D pictures, there’s still a lot of ghosting and blur that sometimes leaves your eyes unsure of what to focus on.

Although it’s expensive and 3D has a few teething troubles, the UE46C8000 is something special. 3D is just one of many reasons to recommend it - the amount of other features is staggering and if you can find a better looking TV we’ll eat our 3D glasses.

The UE46C8000's compatibility with all the key new 3D formats is obviously its dominant feature, but it also boasts a so-called 3D HyperReal Engine that's claimed to deliver significant performance benefits over other brands.
Some aspects of this engine are too complicated to fully explore here, but for starters, Samsung has added a scanning backlight to its existing 200Hz engine – delivering an effect that some rival brands would most likely call 400Hz. This should enable it to reproduce motion with greater clarity.
Also key is a dual black insertion system, where frames are inserted between the alternating left and right 3D frames to reduce the ghosting phenomenon that's commonly known as crosstalk.
Samsung has developed a special high-speed pixel-driving circuit for the 46C8000, too, along with an ultra-fast 1.05Gbps high speed interface, to reduce LCD's usual, response time issues.
The 46C8000 also integrates a 2D to 3D conversion system, so that users can watch conventional discs and broadcasts in three dimensions until there are more true 3D sources available to buy.

While undeniably expensive against standard 46in TVs, it does feature extensive multimedia support, a stunning design and a large amount of innovative 3D technology.
